Insanity - DNC drives downtown rental prices through the roof!
Would you rent you house out to a group of strangers for a week for $15,000? What about allowing these strangers to sleep in your bed, shower in your shower, drive your car and borrow your spouse (no joke, one Craigslist ad gave the renters access to his spouse to cook and clean for them)? F***ed Up. That is what several homeowners downtown are offering online to Democratic National Conventioniers. Vacant and occupied property owners are jumping up and down to get the attention of a this deep pocketed party crowd.
Property owners are not the only ones planning on cashing in big time on the convention crowd. Restaurant owners, parking structures, retailers, liquor stores, private security, drug pushers and prostitutes both your Colfax rates and your Ashley Dupre’s.
Denver is going to get rocked!

I have been reading about this, and how people are living with their friends in a different part of town for the week just so they can rent their place out. I agree with the Fd up. Yet the money does sound pretty tempting. I wonder if I can just rent out my husband and not my house?

I understand that similar rentals and prices occurred during previous democratic and republication national conventions. Why not rent out if you have a prime location in Cherry Creek or downtown? It does the guests a favor - they will not have to book a hotel room as far out as Golden, where rates for a tiny room are upwards of $600 a night — and the homeowners get to profit for their ingenuity. It’s a win-win situation for all concerned!
